Arthur Guinness
Author Guinness is the founder of Guinness.”
Arthur, born on September 24, 1725, started brewing in his first job for the archbishop (a senior high-ranking bishop in the Catholic religion). When Dr. Arthur Price (a bishop that Arthur worked with and also his godfather) died, he left him with 100 pounds (which is over 26,000 euro now). Arthur started his own small brewing business in 1759 in Dublin

Olivia Whitmore
Olivia Whitmore born in 1742 the name Whitmore is a British name but she was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. Her parents are

Marriage
Arthur Guinness married Olivia Whitmore on the 17th of June 1761. Arthur was 36 at the time, Oliva was 19.
They ended up having 21 children together in the span of 20 years.
Descendants
Of their 21 children, unfortunately only 10 survived into adulthood:
Elizabeth Guinness, Revd. Dr. Hosea Guinness, Arthur Guinness II, Edward Guinness, Olivia Guinness, Benjamin Guinness, William Lunell Guinness, Louisa Guinness, John Grattan Guinness, Mary Anne Guinness.
Arthur Guinness
Arthur ran Guinness for 44 years before he died on January 23, 1803.
He made 1,980 pounds (that is the equivalent of 30 million euros now) in his 44 years of running Guinness.
After Arthur's death
After Arthur Guinness' death, he left the brewery to his son, Arthur Guinness the second. He would then turn the company into a successful business worldwide by focusing on exporting trade and development within the company.

Arthur Guinness the second was the second oldest son and inherited the company after Arthur Guinness' death.
Arthur Guinness the second, was given the company because he was a close business partner to his Father.
He was married twice and had nine children. Two of his children were Arthur Lee Guinness and Benjamin Lee Guinness, who bought the 'St Anne's' house in 1935.
The Guinness's now
The Guinness family no longer runs the Guinness business.
In 1997, Guinness merged with Grand Metropolitan to become Diageo plc. The Guinness family are still believed to own shares in Diageo.
